PARIS BY PAMELA

At a cafe near Ecole Militaire called Tourville, we had breakfast with Pamela Oussadon, founder of swimsuit brand Pamela Beaumane. As soon as we see her at the entrance of the cafe, we note her beautiful smile, sparkling eyes and instantly feel a connection. Of course, we could not have been more right as our rendezvous with Pamela lasted two and a half hours! We discussed fashion with plenty of laughter and stories. Needless to say; we were pleased to discover a talented creative and active woman who is both intelligent and funny.

 

Pamela’s Moroccan father moved to France at seventeen and settled in Alsace. After high school, Pamela moved to Paris to study and started working in real estate. However; she soon realized that her heart lied in design.  In April 2011, she launched a brand of couture-made swimsuits called Pamela Beaumane, a name that combines her own with her grandmother’s. Unsurprisingly, Pamela’s talent and designs soon caught the eye of Hollywood thanks to Sofia Coppola who was one of her first clients.

In addition to meeting the designer side of Pamela, we got to meet her inner Parisian. She has lived in the city for fifteen years, and she happily shared her favorite haunts with us.

Pamela is very athletic, and she is constantly on the move. Her workout consists of weekly yoga and ballet barre sessions at  Studio Ritual in the 6th arrondissement. She also takes French boxing lessons and runs an hour almost every day. In addition, she follows an exemplary food and hygiene routine via advice from Dr. Joyeux.

 

 

Pamela loves and knows how to have fun as well. She loves to be pampered and spend a spontaneous night at a fashionable Parisian hotel like the Hotel Amour at Rue de Navarin  in the 9th district or the Molitor in the 16th. Each of these hotels has a different atmosphere that provides a sense of escape, and we cannot agree more! She also loves the healthy organic brunch at Rose Bakery, lunch at the  Bon Marché or dinner at the Belle Epoque, the newest spot to see and be seen.

Ready for a drink? Pamela suggests to head to Rue des Lombards where you will find plenty of  jazz bands playing at local cafes. Her playlist includes names like Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald and Sidney Bechet.

 

As for shopping, Pamela is all about the accessories. Her latest purchase is a pair of slant wedges from Isabel Marant. Pamela is as bright and fun as her swimsuits, and we think you are sure to agree. 😉
