Karine Assaf’s Favorites Places in London
If you follow My Souk In The City, you could have missed Karine Assaf and her beautiful silk scarves! This Lebanese designer, who decided to launch her eco-friendly and trendy brand, chose London as a pied-à-terre. So we wanted to know everything about her favorite places and her recommendations for spending time in London like a true Londoner.
Why did you choose to live in London?
For its culture, liveliness, people, education, art and fashion scene and proximity to family!
What do you like most about London?
Many things! It is the most culturally rich place I’ve ever been to/lived in. There is always something for everyone. People are friendly and the city is always very lively. It is constantly changing – by the time you think you get a feel for it, it has already changed. You can’t get bored.
East or West?
What is your Week-end routine? What are your favorite places to chill?
I’ve got no week-end routine really. I travel a lot. Otherwise, I go for Sunday brunches or street markets, exhibitions, a dinner or a drink, a movie night and I do a lot of reading.
What is your favorite place for a Sunday Brunch?
It depends on the region 🙂 Electric Diner in Notting Hill, The Wolsley in Mayfair, The Breakfast Club in Soho and Blixen in Spitalfields…

Where can we go for a good lebanese food in London?
They are all okay. Maybe Maroush Beauchamp Place.
What are your favorite shopping spots?
Marylebone High Street and King’s Road.
Your recommendations for a drink?
For the first-timers in London I’d recommend the popular Sketch, otherwise, Barts, Mr Frogg’s Residence, and Milroy’s amongst many others speakeasy bars.
Is there a place where you like to go to find your inspiration?
Along the Thames river, in front of the Garden Museum and Lambeth Palace, is my favorite place for quit reflexion.
Are there any secret spots that you would like to share with our readers?
The cafe restaurant with a piano and lounge setting hidden behind the cafe at The Hotel Cafe Royal in Piccadilly! A quit hidden gem in one of the busiest spots in London.
