PARIS MON AMOUR

This week we wanted to devote an article to Paris, the city of lights. Paris shines through its culture and gastronomy. That is one reason we love it so much and are proud to call it home. Paris also celebrates fashion, and fashion loves to celebrate Paris. Thus, we asked some of our designers to share their favorite places in the capital this week. We are excited to see what inspires them most about this glorious city.

Oumaima, the Parisian designer we discussed last week, told us about one of her favorite places to drink, Palette bar, which is known for its beautiful terrace in the 6th district.

If you are in the mood for sushi, then Oumaima recommends Rice and Fish in the second. She swears this is where you can find the best sushi in the city! Oumaima also loves exploring Paris looking for undiscovered gems at local flea markets or the famed marché St Ouen, – a place that is full of inspiration itself.

Next, Nour Najem, a Lebanese designer we blogged about as well, told us what she likes to do in Paris. She loves dining  at The Gazette in the 16th district, a place she appreciates for its great menu and superb atmosphere. The pastry shop Cyril Lignac on rue de Chaillot is also a must for her; their desserts are simply delicious. Nour also enjoys walks in the Marais side and especially on rue de Sevigne where she often goes for a nice shopping spree. She likes to discover new talents and appreciate the abundance of collections. Finally, Nour loves Paris for its culture and museums. Her favorite museum is the Museum of Decorative Arts because she finds its temporary and permanent exhibitions enthralling.

Aya and Mounaz, the Egyptian sisters and creators of the brand Okhtein, underscore the draw of Parisian romanticism. They like to walk and wander the streets for inspiration, and they see beauty and history at every corner. Their Autumn/ Winter collection was designed in a cafe on Cairo street, a charming passage that they find especially beautiful. These Egyptian sisters are also fond of Parisian mornings because they can eat a fresh baguette as cliché as it sounds. In Paris, they claim to have tried the best baguette and cheese possible! In a fashion capital such as Paris and on one of its most famous shopping avenues, the Champs-Elysees is where the two sisters have experienced the best shopping as tourists. This avenue continues to be a  true symbol of Paris, and it holds a leading role among avenues frequented by the fashionistas of the world. Finally, any talk about Paris without mentioning Montmartre is impossible. It offers one of the most unique neighborhoods due to its lively energy; the sisters like to go for walks as quiet, romantic getaway from the bustle of the busy streets.
