We met with Oumaïma at the “Who’s next?” Salon in Paris where we were able to see her entire collection for the first time after catching our eye a few months earlier. She took the time to show us each piece and describe the spirit behind the line. In short, her collection takes us into her world where East meets West with a profound mix of rich creations that are modern, colorful and minimalist all at once.
Oumaïma grew up in Tunisia, and she now lives in Paris where she launched her brand in 2012. The brand is inspired by the designer’s cultural heritage. She also subtlety adds her love of architecture, contemporary art, and travel into a contemporary collection full of history. Thus, vivid colors, gold metal, and geometric shapes intertwine and come together for a unique touch that is modern, sophisticated and filled with attention to detail.
We adore the entire collection of Oumaïma, and we are sure you will love her jewelry too. There are quite a few pieces that captured our attention. The collection called “Afrodisiaque” is the designer’s voluminous take on African masks. It features a flashy brass and stone shaped into a very contemporary and trendy piece.
We also like the Fringe collection that brings movement and fluidity to our actions. It is inspired by ready-to-wear and the movement of the fabric. The fringed jewelry was designed especially to move, live, and wear like a garment.
Last but not least is the Handassa collection- the name means architecture in Arabic. The lines and minimalist architecture worked subtly as it mingles details recalling ancient Egypt.
