RANI ZAKHEM
If we had to choose one word to sum up our meeting with Rani Zakhem, it would definitely have to be “magic.” We immediately felt like we were in a fairy tale when we visited his atelier in Beirut. We discovered row after row of beautiful dresses. Each one was made from breathtaking materials and encrusted with dazzling jewels that lit up the room. It was like being in a dream, and it is one we are excited to share with you.
Rani studied at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York where he earned a degree in fashion design. He was subsequently trained in some of the most renowned fashion houses in the world such as Carlos Miele, Patricia Underwood and Zuhair Murad. It was in 2009 that Rani decided to launch his own brand that is designed for a modern woman who enjoys fashion and a naturally chic aesthetic. Rani Zakhem’s brand brings together three different collections: ready to wear, bridal and haute couture.
Rani Zakhem play with emotion in his design. The modern and feminine silhouettes are developed thanks to his creativity, understanding and use of luxurious fabrics to evoke a sense of glamor and understated elegance. The woman of Rani Zakhem is an unreal creature-, wildly desirable and cruelly elusive. Thus, it is not surprise his latest Haute Couture collection celebrates a modern Marlene Dietrich.
The gowns are both violently sensual and strangely chaste as seen on a short dress that features waves of transparent chiffon or another that has shimmering red, gold and black lace. Overall, these gowns are fit for royalty and the sumptuous fabrics act as a dreamcatcher for our wildest fashion aspirations.
So, it is on this dreamy, sweet tone that we leave the showroom of Rani. We promise to convey the emotion and magic we experienced during this meeting! 🙂
