BEDOUIN

It was at Dubai Fashion Forward where we discovered BEDOUIN and its designer Andraya Farrag. We were seduced immediately by the simplicity and richness of her creativity seen throughout her collections. We took the time to get acquainted with her over coffee at Eataly, a celebrated Italian cafe, in Dubai. We knew this would be a special afternoon as we were transported to Italy after the first sip of our latte because it invaded us a with a sense of La Dolce Vita.. We live in a world without borders, and it was even more clear after speaking with Andraya and discovering  the inspiration behind her brand.

 

Born to an English mother and an Egyptian father, Andraya grew up in London with an English education imbued with Middle Eastern culture. She traveled extensively and lived abroad, and it is her global upbringing that gave her the inspiration and motivation to create her brand after graduating from the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London.

BEDOUIN is a contemporary feminine brand that aspires to produce comfortable collections that are easy to wear and full of style. Andraya’s motto when it comes to designing is clearly “Less is more.” It is clear she draws inspiration from the style of  nomadic Bedouin tribes. Andraya dreams of a style without borders. She is inspired by the simplicity of nomadic communities worldwide: each collection is influenced by the world of travel and traditions.

 

Each piece in the BEDOUIN collection is both flattering and versatile for a style that is “easy and without fuss.” We are explorers constantly looking for must-have pieces for our wardrobe, and we found it in BEDOUIN. We love the mixture of styles and materials: the feminine / masculine pieces with silk fabrics that create loose silhouettes or embroidered clothing that screams sporty, chic style!

Her latest collection for spring/ summer 2016, inspired by Mexico, is available on our e-shop. The details are subtle. A dress or jacket could instantly transport you to a resort in Mexico, but it will also fit seamlessly into the rest of your wardrobe. BEDOUIN has been designed to fit the contemporary woman who loves to travel in a and sporty a chic, minimalist style. Andraya also likes to highlight the responsible nature of her production which is locally made in a workshop in Dubai.
